1. Where is the best place to start if I haven't read any of the books set in the Van Helsing world?

Dragons Do It Dirtier, the first Dragon Shifters Do It book, is a great place to start. Each of the books in the series is a standalone romance, but readers have commented that they enjoyed reading them in order.

Alternatively, you could start with My Sexy Warlock Weekend or Cursed By a Vampire, both standalone romances. Warlock features a character introduced in Dragons Do It Nerdier, but can definitely be read as an entry point to the world. Cursed features one of the Van Helsing sisters not introduced in the Van Helsing Sisters Adventures series of short stories. 

2. The Van Helsing Sisters Adventures are short. Will those characters get more stories? I want more Mia (Crazy), Mariah (Wild), Morgan (Wicked), and Tilly (Sin).

These stories were always intended to be brief. When I wrote them, I called them Monster Hunter Meet Cutes. That said, I do have plans for these ladies!

MORGAN: I intend at least one more story that will be similar in length to A Touch of Wicked and Wicked Fire. It’s not currently on my writing calendar but is penciled in for “the future.”

MARIAH: Mariah and Barrett have their own book, the first in the Wolf Bitten series. Beast’s Salvation is the working title – meaning that it might change. I’m super excited to write their story (and have actually already begun it), but it’s currently slated as a bonus project. These are the projects I write in between my scheduled releases. I’m so excited about their story. It’s just a question of when I’ll find the time to get them out of my head. Soon, hopefully, because they’re definitely bickering. 

MIA: I have no plans to give Mia an additional story of her own. I do love her character though and plan for her to appear as supporting cast in the future. She’s already featured prominently in My Sexy Warlock Weekend, and in fact, gave some not terrible relationship advice in that book. (Shocking, I know. Credit to her SO, Dylan, for that.) She also appears in Dragons Do It Grumpier. 

TILLY: I don’t plan an additional story for Tilly, though she will undoubtedly be a part of the rich cast of characters in future Van Helsing world books. She’s already been an off-page, influence in Clara Babcock’s life, the heroine from Dating for Monster Hunters. Tilly’s love interest Rafe frequently shows up as a mention, though his character typically appears off-page. 

3. Will there be more books to follow Cursed by a Vampire? Callan's story, for example.

I’m planning on it! I love that book. It’s about as edgy as I get and was super fun for me to write. I handed it off to a friend, thinking it was dark and brooding, and she replied: Oh, it’s really funny! Yeah…

I love writing stories with a little humor that feature mostly good people doing mostly good things. No one’s perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, but most of the people in my books (even some of the bad guys) are really trying to be decent humans…or non-humans. Maybe it’s the flavor of the book being a little different? I’m not sure, but while the reviews have been good, the sales have been very low. I’m hoping that interest increases over time, so I can prioritize it. For now, I’m tentatively planning on Callan’s story (Hunted by a Vampire) to hit my writing schedule in mid-2024. When that date is firmer, I’ll announce it in my newsletter and update this page. I originally intended to write 3 of these total with an additional short story or novella – and I’m still hoping to!

4. Are the minotaurs, orcs, and Fae really all in the Van Helsing world?

Yes and no. = )

Yes, all the For the Love of a Good Monster romances take place in the same universe as the Van Helsing romances.  

No, they aren’t all in the same world. FLGM romances take place in the Land Across the Bridge. Which is a magical place across a magical bridge. Which means the “real” world and the more openly magical one are connected by that bridge. 

5. Which books are standalones?

As of May 2024, My Sexy Warlock Weekend and Dating for Monster Hunters are both standalones with no immediate plans for a series.
